September 10 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm | Second Wednesday Salon
You are invited to attend the
Second Wednesday Salon
Wednesday, September 10, 2008
Stave Wine Lounge,
1149 First St.
5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m.
One of the primary goals of the Measure A Flood Control Project was to protect homes and businesses from flooding while improving wildlife habitat within and along the
Napa
River. There are visible signs of the progress made to protect residents from floodwaters, but what about the resident fish and wildlife within and along the
Napa
River itself?
Please join us for an insightful presentation by Jonathan Koehler, Senior Biologist for the Napa County Resource Conservation District. Jonathan will discuss the status and prognosis for endangered species within the
Napa
River watershed and how the Flood Control Project is impacting and improving the sustainability of these creatures. He will bring with him actual underwater video footage of endangered Chinook Salmon and Steelhead Trout spawning in the
Napa
River. Jonathan and his team have completed miles of stream and River inventory and assessments within the
Napa
River watershed and will be available to answer your questions.
Location: Stave Wine Lounge, 1149 First St,
Napa
Time: 5:00 to 7:00
Cost: $10 for a wine tasting card and light refreshments.

September 17 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm | NCTPA Board Meeting
Download the Agenda from nctpa.net
Meetings are the third Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the NCTPA offices, 707 Randolph, Suite, Napa, CA 94559-2912.
What is the NCTPA?
The Napa County Transportation & Planning Agency (NCTPA) was formed in 1998 as a joint effort by the cities of American Canyon, Calistoga, Napa, St. Helena, the town of Yountville and the County of Napa. The NCTPA serves as the countywide transportation planning agency.
In July 2000, the NCTPA debuted the VINE, which was formed by combining the V.I.N.E. and the Napa Valley Transit (NVT). Then in 2002, NCTPA began operating community shuttles, including the Calistoga HandyVan, the St. Helena VINE Shuttle and the Yountville Shuttle. As a combined system, the NCTPA provides service to residents throughout the Napa Valley.
What does the NCTPA do?
Most people know we operate the VINE, the Napa area’s bus system. But we also have other responsibilities: we oversee the planning and funding of paratransit (transportation for special needs and disabled riders), the maintenance and improvement of highways, streets and roads, and bicycle transit.
As the program manager for the Transportation Fund for Air Quality, the NCTPA helps promote air quality in the Napa region. The NCTPA also works with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission to coordinate funds from the Transportation Development Act (TDA) for transit, paratransit, streets and roads, and bicycle projects. Additionally, NCTPA serves as the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Authority for the allocation of funds derived from vehicle registration fees.
